What is a Mass Intention? Whenever a priest celebrates Mass, he has at least 2 specific intentions. The first intention is to celebrate the Mass according to the rubrics the Church provided for how to say the Mass. The second is to apply the grace of that Mass toward a specific need or intention. This second intention, commonly called "the intention of the Mass", are special intention offered to God as prayers of intercession and thanksgiving in and through the Eucharist. Anyone wishing to have a Mass said for someone living or deceased can make that request via the collection plate or dropping it off in the office. Masses are a donation of $10, payable to St. Mary of the Lakes. The Mass will be said at St. Mary of the Lakes or St. Francis Xavier
